Selle Valley Construction: Quality Living

Selle Valley Construction: Quality Living

Your home is a unique reflection of you. Not only that, but it is also the largest investment you will likely make in your lifetime. That is why when you choose a building contractor you want to ensure that they provide not only outstanding customer service but also construct a home of the highest quality that will stand the test of time.

Selle Valley Construction in Sandpoint is a custom homebuilder that many have called upon to create their dream home. They first opened in 2005 and when many other contractors were going out of business due to a downturn in the economy, Selle Valley Construction not only survived but also thrived.

Owners Scott and Barbara Schriber and their team work hard to create a home for each of their clients that truly reflects the client’s individual style.

“We pay close attention to detail and quality,” said Barbara. “As a smaller home builder, we limit ourselves to four or five homes per year, which allows us to work closely with the homeowner.”

Part of their mission is to always put the client first and to make sure they build every home, regardless of the budget, with the greatest attention to detail and maintain the highest of quality in their work.

“We have an obligation to our clients and their homes that extends well past the standard warranty,” said Scott.

Their success is something the husband and wife team attribute to the dedication and skill of their staff and subcontractors. And in a time when people are seeking to be environmentally conscious, Barbara and Scott are pleased to offer their expertise as Certified Green Professionals with the National Association of Home Builders.

“We’ve built a number of homes certified by Energy Star and the National association of Home Builders Green Building Standard,” said Barbara.

Scott and Barbara moved to Sandpoint in 2002. “Scott went to the University of Idaho, and while we were in Moscow visiting family he suggested we check out Sandpoint,” explained Barbara. “As with many others, we drove over the Long Bridge and knew we wanted to make Sandpoint our home.”

And although they moved here without knowing anyone and without a job, they consider themselves blessed to be able to build their business and grow their family in the community of Sandpoint.

With a true sense of community and a love of the place they now call home, Scott and Barbara and their employees eagerly give back to the community that has supported them. Scott proudly served many years on the Panhandle Building Contractors Association Board, two years of which he was president, and he currently represents the northern 10 counties on the Idaho Contractor Board.

Barbara shares that she had the pleasure of serving on the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce Board for four years and was chairperson of the Chamber’s Business Development Committee for two years. She is also the current treasurer of Northside Elementary’s Parent Teacher Organization.

Jesse Wurm, the project coordinator for Selle Valley Construction, is very active with the Chamber’s 7B Women committee and is a recent graduate of the Chamber’s Leadership program. The Chamber also recently named her volunteer of the month.

In recognition of their fine craftsmanship, Selle Valley Construction has been featured twice in Mountain Living Magazine and a home they built in Sagle was named Small Home of the Year for 2015 by Fine Homebuilding. Check out their website below for a sample of what they do.
